Welcome to Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade

The African proverb “It Takes a Village to Raise a Child” carries a great
deal of truth.

As the challenges in our “village” increase, so does the dependence for the critical services we provide children. It is our social responsibility to provide a caring, nurturing and educational environment for them.

What makes us critically important is our effectiveness in having programs that promote the development of young people by instilling a sense of competence, a sense of usefulness, a sense of belonging and a sense of power or influence. In addition to the arts, sports and recreational programs, we also offer programs that promote character and leadership development, education and computer skills, and health and life skills. When this is successfully implemented, self-esteem is enhanced and an environment is created which helps children achieve their full potential. These instill positive self-identity, educational, social and cultural competence as well as community involvement, health and well being. We ultimately provide a moral compass, which empowers children to have strength and value in their beliefs.

This is who we are and this is what we do. To provide these opportunities a great amount of resources are needed. An integral part of this village is our board members, friends and supporters, whom, with their commitment and dedication for our mission, help us leave a lasting and positive impact on our children. I would like to thank all those who have and continue to support us. Together we are making a difference in the lives of our children. As we continue to embrace and assist children, the support of our community is needed now more than ever, for the children we help raise now will be the “village” of tomorrow.
